At a press conference, Delhi’s Power Minister Styendra Jain announced that Delhi will soon get the latest electric vehicle charging station network across the capital. Delhi Government has already floated a tender for setting up 100 charging stations with a total of 500 charging points.
“Our EV policy envisages a charging station per 3 km in the city. Tenders were floated for setting up 100 (e-vehicle) charging stations with 500 charging points. Tenders have been closed, and 100 prime locations have been identified where charging stations will be set up, and 71 of these will be located at metro stations,” Jain said.
He further confirmed that this project will be ready in three months and will be opened for public use by 27 June this year. Customers will be charged just Rs. 2 per unit for charging their vehicles. If you compare the prices with other states, it is the cheapest. In most states, EV stations charge Rs. 10-15 per unit.
