Chinese smartphone brand Oppo has today announced a three-year partnership with Hasselblad to co-develop camera technologies for OPPO flagship smartphones. Both the cameras will work on color science to offer an improved mobile photography experience.
Oppo and Hasselblad will work to develop advanced imaging solutions with an aim to offer more natural colors and a more refined imaging experience on a smartphone camera. Oppo also targets to bring the best possible natural skin tone in portrait photography.
These companies will start working from software improvements for natural color tuning, enhanced color calibration, and consistent natural color performance for OPPO mobile phones.
Oppo has also confirmed that OPPO’s flagship Find X5 series will the first flagship series under this strategic partnership. Find X5 series will be launched in the first quarter of 2022.
OnePlus already has a similar collaboration with Hasselblad and launched the OnePlus 9 series and the OnePlus 10 Pro in collaboration with Hasselblad. Oppo and OnePlus have already merged their research and development resources, so this move isn’t surprising for us.
