After Twitter, now Reddit wants users to set any NFT as their profile picture. However, the company has not yet detailed how Reddit’s support for NFTs would work.

The company confirmed to Techcrunch that the company is testing NFTs in a very early stage and the feature has yet to make a public appearance on the website. Just like on Twitter, Reddit is also planning to show an ownership verification mark.

“We’re always exploring ways to provide value for users and communities on Reddit. At the moment we’re testing the ability to use NFTs as profile pictures (avatars) and verify ownership,” said Reddit spokesperson Tim Rathschmidt. “It’s a small, internal test and no decisions have been made about expanding or rolling out the capability.”

A Twitter user first spotted a banner about the NFT profile pictures on the website. The banner had a “Get Started” button that wasn’t working.

Just like many other companies, Reddit is also interested in NFTs. It has also made a dedicated sub-domain for NFTs. This page sells CryptoSnoos NFTs. Not all Reddit users are happy about Reddit’s decision to jump into NFTs. But the company doesn’t want to miss any opportunity that could grow big in the future.

CryptoSnoos NFTs are basically collectibles of Reddit’s alien mascot, aka “Snoo.” The company has only four CryptoSnoos and there is no plan to launch more in the coming months.
