LG announces its first gaming laptop with an NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU

LG is mainly known for productivity and business laptops. Now the company has introduced its first gaming laptop LG UltraGear 17G90Q with high-end specs.

LG UltraGear 17G90Q comes with a 17-inch 1080p IPS display with a 300Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. The laptop is fairly slim 21.4mm. It also weighs 5.82 pounds (~2.6KG). It comes with an aluminum case and an attractive grey/purple color scheme.

It packs an 11th-generation Intel Tiger Lake H CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics. This gaming laptop also has a vapor chamber cooling system and 3D DTS:X Ultrasound. The laptop offers up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB storage. It is a gaming laptop, so features an RGB keyboard.

Connectivity ports include a USB 4 Gen 3×2 (Type C) with Thunderbolt 4, another USB-C 3.2 2×1, two USB 3.2 Gen 2×1, HDMI, microSD, headphone jack, and RJ45. It also features a fingerprint sensor on the power button and a 1080p webcam.

LG UltraGear 17G90Q packs a 93Wh battery and has a dedicated DC input for charging.

The company didn’t confirm the pricing details but it will reveal more details at CES on January 4th. The laptop will be first released in the US and later in Korea.
