Disney+ Hotstar is testing a new mobile-only plan at an introductory price of Rs. 49

Back in September, Disney+ Hotstar announced new plans including a mobile-only plan priced at Rs. 499 per year. This plan offers 720p video streaming on smartphones. Now the company is testing a monthly plan offering the same benefits. This will be a mobile-only plan offering 720p content streaming. It could be initially launched at an introductory price of Rs. 49 per month. Later, the price can go up to Rs. 99 per month.

If It is priced at Rs. 99 per month, it won’t be a good deal when the year plan costs Rs. 499. So, I don’t think the company could increase the introductory pricing.

Since the plan is still being tested, it is not available for all the users. It is not clear when the company plans to widely roll out this plan to all users.

Recently, Netflix also unveiled new pricing for all its plans. Now the mobile-only SD plan costs Rs. 149 per month. This could be a reason why Disney+ Hotstar is now testing the monthly pricing for its mobile-only plan.
