Now several laptops offer a touchscreen display, but Apple is still not interested in offering a touchscreen screen display option. Apple makes one of the best touchscreen displays for iPhones and iPad. So, why the company isn’t interested in offering a touchscreen display on Macs? Recently Apple has explained the reason behind this.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering, explained the reason for not offering the Macs with touchscreen. He said, “We make the world’s best touch computer on an iPad. It’s totally optimized for that. And the Mac is totally optimized for indirect input. We haven’t really felt a reason to change that.”

Apple wants users to try high-end iPads if they are interested in having a laptop with Touchscreen. Apple’s latest iPad Pro is powerful enough to perform high-end tasks. With Magic Wireless Keyboard, the iPad can be used as a laptop.

The touchscreen display is good and helps a lot but it isn’t as useful in laptops and desktops as it is in smartphones. I have seen people having laptops with touchscreen displays but they hardly use them. Trackpad and keyboard are still preferred input options.
