Microsoft is removing support for iOS 13 in Teams

Microsoft’s Teams is one of the most used apps by professionals. So, the company keeps improving it for a better user experience. Now the company I removing support for iOS 13. That means, the app will now require iOS 14 and newer.

“We will be retiring the Teams mobile support on iOS version 13 and below. Instead, we recommend that users upgrade to newer iOS builds, which is where we will continue to invest our development resources. We will also begin encouraging users to update to the newest version of Teams if they’re running builds older than 1 year,” the company explained in a message on the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

If you still have a phone running iOS 13, the current Teams app keeps working but you won’t get further updates. All the new features that will be added to Teams in the future will not be given to you.

Microsoft will implement this starting October, soon after the iOS 15 is available. Apple is expected to release iOS 15 next month in September. The good news is that Apple has not dropped support for any iPhone this year. So, All the devices that were eligible for iOS 14 are also getting iOS 15.

If you have an iPhone that runs on iOS 13, you are having iPhone 6 or older. That’s quite old smartphone. So, you can consider upgrading to a newer smartphone.
