Yik Yak was once a popular anonymous messaging app and it was shut down in 2017. Now the app is back from the dead and the iOS version of the app is available on the iOS App Ser.
For now, the app is only available for iPhone users in the US, but the company has plans to expand the app to other regions and devices soon.
Yik Yak connects people within a five-mile radius. Users could also post anonymously that led to bullying and harassment. This time developers are not ignoring that issue and have mental health resources and guidance on staying safe.
Yik Yak won’t allow users to be engaged in any kind of bullying, harassment, bigotry, or threats. It also doesn’t allow users to post personal information.
After the app was shut down back in 2017, Square paid $1 million for several Yik Yak engineers and some of the company’s intellectual property rights. At this moment, we have no information about who is behind the relaunch of the app.
