Twitter is updating its iOS app to give Twitter Spaces, an audio chat room feature, more visible placement. The app will now feature the Spaces tab on the main navigation at the bottom center part of the app. So, navigation now will have five icons. Tapping on the Spaces tab will show Spaces being hosted by uses you follow on Twitter.

Spaces tab will show current Spaces rooms with details like Space names, hosts and people you know who are participating. Users can also manage reminders for scheduled Spaces. See the snapshot to understand how this tab will look like.

The company will roll out this update gradually. So, only around 5000 people from the original Spaces beta test will first see the design change. After this test release, Twitter will release the redesigned app with the Spaces discovery tab to all users.

Last month, app researcher Jane Manchun Wong revealed Twitter’s plan to bring Spaces to the main navigation bar. This move also shows that Twitter is now aggressively pushing Spaces to take on Clubhouse.

Twitter users who are active on Spaces will get a purple circle around their profile picture. If you see the purple circle, it means the user is currently using Spaces at that time. It will similar to the blue circle that appears when a user uploads a Fleet.

Yesterday, Twitter also released a Twitter Blue subscription for users in Australia and Canada. This subscription service brings premium features including undo and bookmarks to subscribers.
