Tinder, a popular dating app in India, has introduced a new vaccine advocacy initiative in India with an aim to encourage youths of the country to get vaccinated. The company wants to reach millions of Tinder users across the country and help them with resources related to the Covid-19 vaccine.

The company has also made a dedicated website tinder.knowthevaccine.com. This website includes guides and answers to most asked questions about the vaccine.

“As India’s vaccination drive gains momentum, we want to extend support and encouragement for our members to be better equipped to find their way back into IRL dating when it becomes a possibility. Our intent is to make dating safer everywhere and for everyone and Tinder vaccine stickers will make it both easy and fun to share your vaxxing vibe and start something epic!,” Taru Kapoor, General Manager Tinder, and Match Group India said.

Tinder app will soon get an in-app centre with resources from WHO and also cowin.gov.in. Users will be able to use this section to access government-approved vaccine information. The app will also allow users to book vaccination an appointment at their nearest vaccination site.

Tinder users can also display their vaccination status on their profiles. They can also advocate for their potential matches to get vaccinated by adding interactive stickers. Stickers include “Vaccinated,” “Vaxing Soon,” “Immunity Together,” and “Vaccines Save Lives.”

Tinder’s parent company Match Group also made a donation to ACT Grants for supporting their COVID relief programmes. Now the company wants to spread vaccine awareness. I hope other companies will also get similar initiative to motivate Indian people to get vaccinated.
