Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has demanded the ban on the upcoming game Battlegrounds Mobile India citing security reasons. Battlegrounds Mobile India is actually the slightly modified version of PUBG Mobile that was banned in the country in September 2020.

Mr Praveen Khandelwal, who is the Secretary-General of CAIT, has written a letter to Ravi Shankar Prasad and requested him to ban the recently launched Battlegrounds Mobile India. The letter claims that “the game is not only a threat to national sovereignty and security of India but also harmful for young generations.”

He also tweeted a copy of the letter sent to Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad. You can read it in the tweet embedded below.

It is worth noting that former Union Minister and current AP MLA, Mr. Ninong Erin has also requested Prime Minister to ban the game a few days back for the same reason. Member of Parliament Abhishek Singhvi also tweeted against the game and blamed the government for doing nothing to stop this Chinese game.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is now available in early access and is set to launch in the country soon. The game has already received more than 5 million downloads even before the game is available for everyone.
