Arunachal Pradesh MLA writes to PM Modi to ban Battlegrounds Mobile India

Battlegrounds Mobile India

PUBG Mobile was once a popular mobile game in India. The game was banned in India last year in September. Since then, Krafton Inc has tried a lot to get the game back to the Indian market. It also cut ties with Tencent Games but couldn’t convince Indian authorities. So, the company decided to launch a different game and unveiled Battlegrounds Mobile India.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is said to be the rebranded PUBG Mobile India with some changes. The game is now accepting pre-registrations and is expected to be available next month.

Now when gamers are excited to get this game, Union Minister and current Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering has created a controversy. He has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ban Battlegrounds Mobile India and referred it to as the relaunch of PUBG Mobile.

In his letter, he claims that most of Krafton Inc’s India employees are from Tencent. He also noted that Battlegrounds Mobile India’s Google Play Store listing contains therm “pubg mobile” in the URL. This was also pointed out by several people.

Earlier, Member of Parliament Abhishek Singhvi also blamed the government for allowing PUBG Mobile back in India to divert youth’s attention from the pandemic.

There is no official statement from the government this matter. Krafton Inc has also not made any statement confirming why it used the term PUBG Mobile.

We already know that Battlegrounds Mobile India is actually a slightly modified version of PUBG Mobile. This time, Krafton has committed to follow the guidelines. It says that all users’ data will be kept in Indian servers. There will be a parental control option for gamers aged below 18 years. The company will also show less blood.
