Yahoo has quietly announced the company will shut down its Yahoo Answers platform this summer. Yahoo answers will be put on read-only mode starting April 20, 2021, and won’t be accessible starting May 4th, 2021. Users have until June 30 to download their Yahoo Answers data.

Yahoo confirmed this decision by putting a banner at the top of the website. Here is how this information banner looks.

Yahoo Answers

As I already said, interested users can download this data before June 30. This data will include any questions the user may have submitted along with images. You will need to login into your Yahoo account and then use download too to make data request. Your data will be provided to you in JSON format. So you will need a JSON parser to browse the data.

Yahoo Answers was once a popular platform but users dropped over time. Now Reddit, Facebook Groups, and Quora are popular among users who are looking for answers from communities. Yahoo Answers was launched back in Reddit. The 15-years old website still attracts traffic but that isn’t good enough as compared to the competition.
