Popular video-sharing platform YouTube is testing a new way for users to purchase products from the platform. The feature lets creators add certain products to their videos. Viewers can check these products and purchase from the options given in the video.

The feature will add a shopping bag icon at the bottom left corner of the video. Clicking on the bag icon will open product details with a link to purchase products.

The feature is being tested with select users in the US. It will be available on YouTube for web, YouTube’s iOS, and Android apps.

Creators can already add links to prices in the video description but that doesn’t get much CTR. This feature also redirects users to third-party pages. The new feature will let users sell their products on YouTube itself and also bring a new way for creators and YouTube to earn.

There is no word when the feature becomes available to all users across the globe. This is still a test feature. I will surely report it when YouTube decides to open this feature to all users.
