Facebook has officially launched a TikTok rival app ‘Collab’. The app was introduced back in May as an invite-only-beta. Now the company has decided to launch it to all the users.
This app has been developed by Facebook’s New Product Experimentation (NPE) team that works on experimental apps. This team has made several apps in past. Some of those apps have been killed after they failed to attract users. Some of their apps became popular.

Collab app is similar to TikTok and offers an endless scrolling feed of video uploaded by users. You can create short-form music videos of up to 15 secs. You can also combine up to three independent videos but take care of max video length. The app offers in-app tools to handle video and audio syncing. You can favorite a profile to get notified when they post new clips.
Like TikTok, this app also lets you export videos to share on other platforms, but exported content will have app’s watermark.
For now, the app is only available for iOS platform in the US. Not sure when the app will be released in other countries.
