Finally Google’s cloud gaming platform Google Stadia is coming to iOS. But it won’t be available as a standalone app. The company will bring a progressive web app that will work on Safari or any other web browser.

Google confirmed this view a Tweet.

There won’t be a native app, so the experience won’t be as good as on other platforms. However, Google’s decision is forced by Apple that refuses to allow cloud gaming apps. That is the reason other cloud gaming apps such as Microsoft xCloud could be released for iOS.

Apple requires the submission of individual games for approval instead of a single service that can stream multiple games. This is the reason cloud gaming for iOS is only available in the form of web apps.

Google also confirmed that it is bringing support for more than 135 titles on Stadia by the end of this year. It has already made available more than 80 games since the launch. It has also enhanced gaming experience to compete against similar cloud gaming services such as Amazon’s Luna, Microsoft’s xCloud, Nvidia’s GeForce NOW, and Sony’s PlayStation Now.
