Apple launches 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1 chip

Along with M1 powered MacBook Air, Apple also upgraded The 13-inch MacBook Pro with a newly announced M1 chip.

Apple claims that the M1 chip helped in nearly 2.8x performance bump and 5x faster graphics over the previous model. It also comes with a Neural Engine for high-speed machine learning computing. Apple claims that the new MacBook Pro is the world’s fastest compact pro notebook for ML tasks.

The new MacBook Pro features a 13-inch display and 16 GB of RAM. It also features two USB-C ports that support USB 4 and Thunderbolt 4.

The new MacBook Pro will offer up to 20 hours of video playback and 17 hours of battery life for web browsing on a single charge.

It will launch with MacOS 11 Big Sur that has been designed to work on the new hardware. Apple has also updated its own software for this new hardware and other software maker will follow soon.

The new MacBook Pro starts at $1,299 (or $1,199 for education) and will be up for pre-order starting today.
