After introducing the M1 Chip-based MacBook Air, Apple has discontinued the sale of Intel-powered MacBook Air from its online store. The company recently launched new MacBook Air powered by its in-house M1 chip. Now if you visit Apple’s online store, you will just see the new MacBook Air priced at Rs. 92,990 and Rs. 1,17,900 for 256GB and 512GB SSD models.

The new MacBook Air comes with a 13.3-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit display with 400 nits brightness. It packs an Apple M1 chip that boasts much better performance than Intel chips. The laptop has 8GB RAM that is configurable up to 16GB. It also comes in 256GB and 512GB models that also slightly different in GPU options. The first one has a 7-core GPU while the second one has an 8-core GPU.

Apple’s M1 chip not just improved performance, but it also improved battery backup. Now the MacBook promises up to 18 hours of video playback.

The laptop still has just two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports and a headphone jack. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5. It has the same 720p FaceTime HD camera but promises improved performance.

Along with the M1-powered MacBook Air, Apple also launched a new MacBook Pro and Mac mini powered by its own M1 chip.

Apple has promised that it will keep support previously sold Intel-powered MacBook devices and will slowly switch to its own chips in the next 2 years. That means we will also see M1 powered iMac next year.
