Zynga has just announced that it has decided to shut down FarmVille after a crazy run of 11 years. The game will not be available after December 31, 2020.

Zynga was forced to take decision because Adobe will also stop distributing and updating Flash Player for all web browsers after December 31, 2020. FarmVille requires the Flash Player plugin, so users cannot play it in modern browser when Flash player isn’t available.

While the game will be playable until December 31, 2020, in-app purchases for FarmVille will only be available until November 17. If you have any remaining credit, use it before December 31st, 2020. Zynga is also working on fun in-game activities to make your remaining time on the game more enjoyable.

“We’re aware that many of you have been with us since the very beginning, helping to build an incredible global community of players over the years who’ve enjoyed this game just as much as we have. For that we say thank you,” Zynga said in its announcement.

FarmVille was launched back in 2009 and was playable on Facebook. It was an addictive game where users used to make their cities and connect more people.

If you want to keep playing FarmVille, you can try Farmville 2: Tropic Escape that is available on Android and iOS. The company will also launch FarmVille 3 on mobile platforms soon.
