This new Linux OS “LinuxFx” looks similar to Windows 10

If you like the appearance of Windows 10 but want to use Linux, there’s a new OS for you to try. The new Ubuntu-based Linux OS “LinuxFx” offers the look and feel of Microsoft’s Windows 10 in the best possible way.

LinuxFx Build 2004 (codenamed “WindowsFx”) is the Linux distribution based on Ubuntu 20.04. It feels like you are using Windows 10 emulator on Linux. It has the exact same default Windows 10 wallpaper, Start Menu, and File Explorer.

This OS also brings an assistant called “Helloa” that also uses the same logo and animation as Cortana. On the first boot, Helloa helps to setup graphics drivers, display, and resolution in a similar way as Cortana does in Windows 10. Helloa is in the early development stages and the development team is trying to integrate with Google to add artificial intelligence and voice commands.

Linuxfx also comes with several valuable additions to help Windows users migrating to Linux. This Linux-based OS also has an ability to install .exe and .msi packages (using Wine) works out of the box. It also comes with several productivity and communication software like Skype, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, TeamViewer, and Zoom.

The company behind the OS claims that system updates are seamless and don’t require a restart. LinuxFx is also actively being developed for ARM platforms.
