Lockdown 3.0 has been now confirmed but with some more relaxations. Lockdown in India has been extended by two weeks till May 17. For the third-phase of lockdown, the government has marked cities in Red, Orange, and Green Zones depending on the level of infection. So, several services are now allowed in Green and Orange zones.
Delivery of non-essential items will also now be allowed through e-commerce in Green and Orange Zones. That means you can now buy smartphones, laptops, and other non-essential items online. The government has not clarified anything about brick-and-mortar stores.
Earlier in April, the government only allowed the delivery of essential items via e-commerce platforms. But there was a demand to put electronics items in essential products/ Several people are now working from home, so there’s a demand of Routers, mouse, laptops and other electronics items.
MHA also confirms that postal and courier services will be active in all areas.
In Orange zone, taxis and cab aggregators will also be permitted to operate but only with one passenger. Inter-district movement of individuals will also be allowed but only for permitted activities.
As per the guidelines, several services including air travel, trains, metro, and inter-state road movement will remain suspended.
