Now everyone can access Instagram DMs on the web

Back in January, we reported that Instagram started testing DMS on the web. Now Instagram DMs on the web is available for everyone globally. The final rollout begins today at 10 AM ET.

The availability of Instagram DMs on the web is convenient for influencers and social media managers. This makes it easier to access the messages using the laptop and respond to hundreds of messages a day. Typing on a laptop is easier than typing on the phone screen.

If you login to your Instagram profile on a web browser, you will see the DM icon at the top right corner. Clicking on the will open the DM section where you can access older conversations and can start a new one if you want.

Instagram DMs on the web

DMs for web brings all the features you have on the mobile app. You can like messages, use emojis or send a photo. You can start a new individual conversation or a group conversation.

Bringing DMS to the web is a part of Zuckerberg’s broader vision. He wants to integrate messaging of three major platforms Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram together so people can message each other regardless of the platform they’re using. Not sure when it will be possible but it will come for sure sooner or later.
