Along with some laptops and foldable phones, Microsoft also announced Microsoft Surface Earbuds at its hardware event in New York.

Microsoft Surface Earbuds features a unique kind of design that makes it unique. It has a secure fit design with intuitive touch and voice controls for music, calls and more.

The outer surface responses to gestures like touch, tap, and swipe. You can swipe up or down to change volume, swipe back or forward to change tracks, double-tap to pause music and make calls or touch and hold to activate digital assistant.

You can also manage your Outlook calendar, listen and reply to an email, record to-do’s, use live captions and subtitles on-screen in Powerpoint and more.

There’s a 13.6mm driver in each earbud with a frequency response of 20 –20 kHz. They also feature dual microphones. It supports SBC and aptX audio codecs for good quality music streaming.

The Earbuds are IPX4 rated. Each weighs 7.2g. There’s only a single color option i.e. Glacier.

Microsoft Surface Earbuds are compatible with Windows 10, Android 4.4 or higher, and iOS9 or higher.

Microsoft claims up to 24 hours battery with included charging case. The charging case supports USB Type-C charging.

Microsoft Surface Earbuds is priced at $ 249 and will be available later this year.
