iPhone 11 Pro First Impressions

iPhone 11 Pro

Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro is now on sale in India. There’s a huge demand in India for this new iPhone 11, still, we managed to get the iPhone 11 Pro Space Grey model to review. We just unboxed it a few hours back. So, here are the first impressions of the iPhone 11 Pro.

Box Contents

  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • Paperwork
  • SIM ejector pin
  • Some Apple Logo Stickers
  • 18W USB-Type-C Power Delivery Wall Charger
  • Lightning Earpods
  • USB Type-C to lightning charging cable

The iPhone 11 Pro looks similar to iPhone XS from the front. The 5.8-inch OLED panel on iPhone 11 Pro is a bit smaller. If you prefer the larger size, go with the iPhone 11 Pro Max that has a 6.5-inch display size. There’s still a wide notch at the top of the display for front camera and sensors.

The most notable change in the design is in the camera module. The new triple camera module has become the identity of the latest iPhone 11 Pro. A lot of people hate the way Apple arranged the three lenses, but that is not stopping people from picking up this phone. The base side has a lightning port along with the speaker. The volume rocker and alert slider are on the left side of the device. The right side has the side button to turn the display on/off or call Siri.

The iPhone 11 Pro has dual speakers. The phone is also IP68 rated for Water and Dust resistance. It can survive under 4 meters of water. Apple claims that it uses toughest glass in any smartphone at the front and back. Well, I am not going to test this with a phone I bought for Rs. 1 Lakh.

The moment you turn on the display, you will notice the improved Super Retina XDR display. Apple has increased the contrast ratio and maximum brightness both to offer better display experience. Video experience is really very good and the phone offers excellent viewing angles. Outdoor visibility is good even on half of the brightness.

The 3D Touch has been replaced with Haptic Touch.

The phone packs A13 Bionic chipset making it most powerful smartphone available in the market. Apple claims a lot of improvement in terms of machine learning, battery consumption and more. It has 4GB RAM and is available in three storage models including 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB. Storage is non-expandable, so one should consider that before selecting a model.

AirDrop seems much faster on this model. Multitasking seems pretty impressive and apps load quickly. I will talk about performance in detail in the full review that will hit next week.

The iPhone 11 Pro supports most LTE bands in India. It also has WiFi 6, but I need a compatible router to test this.

The Camera is the biggest and most notable upgrade in this year’s iPhone models. The iPhone 11 Pro features a triple camera setup that includes all-new Ultra Wide, Wide and Telephoto cameras. That’s not a surprising setup and almost all Android flagship phones have been offering this kind of setup for long. The iPhone 11 Pro has 12 megapixels Wide camera along with 12 megapixels ultra-wide-angle camera and 12 megapixels telephoto camera. This time Apple has also added a new night mode that lets you capture some good shots in low light.

It has 12 megapixels front camera that uses retina flash in low light. The front camera can record slow-motion selfie videos at 120 fps and shoot in 4K at 60 fps. This is something vloggers will love.

I am including a few camera samples here, but the detailed camera review of iPhone 11 Pro will come soon. So, stay tuned for that.

Apple doesn’t talk about battery capacity but we now know that iPhone 11 Pro packs 3046 mAh battery that will last 4 hours longer than the iPhone XS. I have been using this phone for the past few hours and battery doesn’t drain fast. Apple has also included 18W fast charger in the box that can charge this phone up to 50% in 30 minutes.

There’s nothing Pro in iPhone 11 Pro if you compare the specs with other Android flagship phones. But let’s see how well this phone performs because at the end performance matters. I am now testing this phone and will come with a full review soon. If you have any specific question to ask, you can leave it in the comment.
