Spotify Lite Beta App now available for low-end Android phones in India

Spotify, music streaming service, debuted in India almost two months back and got a good response from consumers here. So, the company is now working to bring its app for low-end Android smartphones. The company has just released Spotify Lite Beta App, lighter version of the Spotify app.

Spotify Lite has already been available in several markets including Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Mexico, and Brazil for quite some time. The app is just 10MB in size but offers restricted features with the same UI as in regular Spotify app. The app is specially made for entry-level Android smartphones with low-end specs. Spotify Lite doesn’t require as much power as the regular Spotify app.

Spotify Lite enables users to play their songs from albums and artists they like. Users can search for new music as well. The app also lets you Keep track of storage and dataThe company claims that the app will work fine even on poor network conditions

Amarjit Batra, Managing Director India, Spotify, said in a statement regarding the lighter version of the app available for Android smartphones India: “Spotify Lite Beta enables users to play millions of songs for free, takes up less space on phones, and saves data when used on the go.” As Batra pointed out, the app utilizes lesser resources while offering the same quality and quantity of songs to the users. It works seamlessly on low-end Android phones.
