We know that Xiaomi is set to launch its Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone in India. Now before that launch could happen, the company has announced the permanent price cut of Rs. 1000 for Mi A2, Note 5 Pro, and Redmi Y2.
Here is the new pricing of these phones.

Redmi Note 5 Pro | 6GB+64GB | ₹ 1,000 | ₹15,999 |
Mi A2 | 4GB+64GB | ₹ 1,000 | ₹15,999 |
Mi A2 | 6GB+128GB | ₹ 1,000 | ₹18,999 |
Redmi Y2 | 4GB+64GB | ₹ 1,000 | ₹11,999 |
These new prices are effective today, 12pm noon across all sales platforms. It is interesting to note that there is no change in the price of Redmi Y2 3GB RAM variant.
The company also confirmed the reason for the price drop. It says that they have seen a reduction in component costs of these models. As they have a philosophy of honest pricing where they don’t make more than 5% profit margin, they decided to announce the price cut for these models.
It is also worth to note that Xiaomi recently announced price hike for Redmi 6A, Redmi 6, MI LED TV 4C Pro 32, MI LED TV 41 Pro 49 and MI Power bank 2i due the fall of Indian Rupees against dollars.
Xiaomi is leading India’s smartphone market and ranked number 1 for 5 consecutive quarters by IDC. The company has a huge fan base in the entry-level and mid-range segment.
