Realme to increase prices of phones after Diwali

Realme 2 Pro

Increasing rate of Indian Rupees against dollars is affecting the prices of several imported products. Now the Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has confirmed that the falling rupee rates will have an impact on prices of Realme phones.

Madhav Sheth didn’t confirm the price rise but a possibility and promised to figure out the best possible solution after Diwali. And most probably, the solution will be the rise in the price of Realme phones.

Realme smartphones come with the aggressive price tags and very low-profit margin. But falling Indian Rupee narrows down the profit further forcing the brand to reconsider the pricing.

Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, and Realme C1 are the 4 phones from the brand that are available online from Flipkart and offline from Reliance Digital. All these phones saw good response from consumers during the sales season and Realme posted strong sales figure.

Increasing price will surely disappoint the consumers who haven’t bought the phone but were considering a Realme phone. Realme is a sub-brand of Chinese smartphone maker Oppo. It could either borrow more money from parent firm and keep selling phones at the same price or increase the price a bit to sustain.

Xiaomi also increased the prices of its Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi LED TV 4 back in April this year due to the same reason. The company also confirmed that it might think about revising the prices of its Redmi 6 series if Rupee continues to fall.
