Xiaomi is still the hot choice for Indian people. As per the recent IDC data for Q2, 2018, Xiaomi is still the leader in India’s smartphone market with 29.7%. If you just see the online smartphone shipment, Xiaomi has 55.6% market share. It shows that Xiaomi has managed to grow with the same pace.
Xiaomi new by 107.6% from Q2 2017 to Q2 2018 that makes it fastest growing smartphone brand in top 5. It also has 24% higher shipments than the second largest vendor in the country.

The company has confirmed that its offline presence has been improved in recent months. The 33% overall shipments came from offline channels in 2Q18. They are trying to hard to penetrate the offline market to expand their reach.
If we look at the top 5 smartphones shipped in Q2 2018, 4 phones were from Xiaomi. These phones are Redmi 5A, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi 5. These 4 phones accounted for 26% of overall smartphone shipments in the country in Q2 2018. It shows how Xiaomi has manage to hold Indian consumers.

After ruling in budget segment, now Xiaomi wants to focus on premium segment with its new sub-brand POCO. POCO has already confirmed to launch its first phone POCO F1 in India on August 22. The new sub-brand is for premium flagship phones to compete with OnePlus that has already dethroned Samsung in premium segment.
