Recently, MediaTek held its first-of-a-kind AI forum to introduce an AI platform Edge-AI. The platform aims to bring AI features to wide range of devices including budget smartphone, wearables, smart home devices and connected devices. With this, the company aims to bring newer user experiences and change the world of smartphones in India..

It is worth to note that Mediatek was the first to bring premium features such as multi-core APU, face detection, gaming, voice-assistant, shopping and many more AI features to mid-range smartphones. At MediaTek forum, the company discussed how it can shape the future of API to bring to more consumers. Mediatek showcased AI-enabled technologies such as deep-learning facial detection, real-time beautification, object and scene identification, AR/MR acceleration, real-time enhancements and augmentations to photography or video and much more.

Facebook, Google and Realme were the few companies who joined the forum to talk about the future of AI. Google’s Vivek Joshi, Head of Android Partner Engineering, shared how MediaTek’s NeuroPilot platform gives smartphone developers the environment to leverage AI capabilities of chip with Google’s Neural Networks API

Facebook India Mobile Partnership Manager Ajay Chhabra explained how on-device machine learning help in enhancing user experience. He also talked about MediaTek’s participation in Open Neural Network Exchange to drive AI innovation.

Madhav Seth, CEO, Realme also talked about MediaTek P60 that it used in its first samrtphoe Readme 1. He also talked about AI features of the phone including Vivid Bokeh, AI Beauty, AR Stickers, AI scene recognition and AI Battery Management.

All the partners who joined the forum together discussed how the rapid evolution of AI-enhanced applications are shaping the future and what could be done to Brin these technologies to affordable devices.
