Last year in March, WhatsApp added document sharing option on its messaging app. It was initially started with PDF sharing and added support to more file formats later.
Now the company is updating the app to allow users share any kind of file with their contacts. While you could do that with few tricks, now you have official support to send any file on WhatsApp. After the new update, you will be able to share music files, Zip files, documents, PDFs and more that you like to share with your contacts. You can even share APK files.

There will also be a file sharing limit. This limit is set to 128MB on iOS, 64MB on Web, and 100MB on Android platform.
Many users have already reported to receive the update. We are not sure if the company is just testing with selected users or it is a mass rollout to all. Even if this is a test, it will be available to all users soon.
This feature will be helpful because we usually share file with friends and most common way is the use of cloud storage service. Cloud storage services are fine, but sharing ability on WhatsApp will save few additional steps and time.
If you have anything to say on this, you can always leave a comment.
