Samsung’s high-end smartphones are doing really well in the market. With Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, it has proved that its phones are not just powerful but also beautiful. It tested the curved edge display phones and found it to be successful. This could be the reason why it didn’t launch flat display variant of Note 7.

Now, it has hinted that curved screen phones are the future of its high-end phones. This hint came from company’s mobile chief Dong-jin Koh.

“Samsung has considered that it would make the edge display as the identity of the Galaxy S smartphone lineup if the company can provide consumers differentiated user experience through software and user-friendly functions (for the curved screen),” Koh said in a recent media interview.

It was reported that Galaxy S7 Edge variant got the better response than the regular S7 variant. So, Samsung did some market research about this and though to test the market reaction if no flat model is available. With recently launched Galaxy Note 7, Samsung is testing only curved edge model. If market response is positive with Note 7, Samsung will surely release only curved edge display S8 model next year.

In next 2-3 months, if Note 7 sees the good response in terms of sales, we can assume the possibility of only curved-edge display model of Galaxy S8.
