Samsung India employees participate in E-waste awareness program for World Environment Day 2016

Samsung India Electronics is committed to E-waste awareness program to contribute its part for our environment. For this, it planned to engage employees, partners and consumers in a week-long E-waste awareness program for World Environment Day 2016.

As a part of this program, Samsung ran a host of activities to educate and ensure awareness at its two manufacturing units in Chennai & Noida, R&D centres in Delhi, Bengaluru & Noida and partner services across the country and all its offices.

Company spread informative videos, teasers and educative emails with facts and insights with employees. Not just this, company also put special E-waste bins across locations for employees to build a greener environment.

Anurag Prashar, Vice President, Samsung India Electronics, said, “United Nations’ World Environment Day is an important time for everyone to remind ourselves of our responsibility towards the environment and to resolve that we should come together and work towards protecting the future of planet Earth. At Samsung, we are committed to a sustainable future that makes everyday living better and through this program our aim was to drive this change in thinking through a call for action.”

Samsung says that when an electronic product reaches its end-of-life, company take it back, reuse it, recycle and reinvent it. In this way, company is trying to contribute to a noble cause of environment preservation.

Samsung also clarified that The global E-waste policy of Samsung Electronics supports recycling. It also comply with India’s E-waste Management and Handling Rules.

Every small or large step help to save our environment. And we appreciate Samsung’s efforts. I also want to congratulate Samsung India’s employees for successful E-waste awareness program.
