Sony’s new patent reveals contact lens camera with, Zoom image stabilization and autofocusIn the race of developing smart connected devices, Sony has also filed the patent for a smart contact lens. Patent reveals that this contact lens is better than we have seen by other rivals in past.

According to the patent, Sony wants to develop a smart contact lens which will have the built-in camera with features like image autofocus, zoom, aperture control and image stabilization. It will also have storage. Digital image stabilization system to counteract image blur caused by the motion of the eyeball.

The shutter of the camera will be controlled by blinking of your eyes. While it not clear how you will actually control other features like zoom, image stabilization, and aperture. We can assume different kind of blinking and eyeball movement patterns for these controls.

We already know that Samsung is working on contact lens with the camera. Google is also working on the smart contact lens to help you measure glucose levels.

Since this is just a patent application, we cannot say if this will result in an actual product. This patent is still pending. So, assuming the existence of this kind of product in future will be too early. But, now we know that smart contact lenses will be a part of future tech.
