Myntra ditches app-only model, Will launch mobile Website Soon

It seems Myntra has dropped its app-only strategy and is planning to bring a mobile website. Myntra has already started testing mobile website and will be launched soon.

Myntra went app-only back in May this year and received mixed reactions. But many users were not happy with this decision. As per reports, this decision also brought fall in traffic and sales for the company. Customers too were dissatisfied and gave 1 star rates for this. It was also surprising that there was not BlackBerry app when company went app-only.

Flipkart’s parent company recently launched a mobile website and I guess it found it useful. This is the reason why Myntra also thought to bring a mobile website.

It is worth to note for Myntra and Flipkart that most of the people use low-cost phones with limited storage. System and pre-installed apps already occupy most of the space. So, people have less space to install app. Forcing users to go to app is not as good as company thinks. Yes, apps let companies offer better and personalized experience but they have to understand problem of customers too.
