MakeMyTrip acquires Mygola

MakeMyTrip acquires Mygola MakeMyTrip has acquired a travel planning startup Mygola for an undisclosed amount. Entire Mygola team will now join MakeMyTrip. This acquisition has been done through company’s earlier announced Innovation Fund which was formed to invest in early-stage startups in the travel technology.

Mygola was founded in 2009 by IIT Mumbai batchmates Bapna and Prateek Sharma. It also raised funds from various investors including Helion Ventures, Blumberg Capital, 500Startups and “numerous angels”.

Company helps travellers in creating custom trips in 15 minutes. It covers more than 20,000 travel destinations worldwide and claims to have around half a million organic visitors a month. Mygola’s mobile app curate content, photos and videos from travellers around.

“Mygola team’s deep understanding of travelers’ planning and in-destination experience preferences will be very valuable in strengthening our proposition in these and related areas of customer engagement, ” said Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder & CEO MakeMyTrip India.

This acquisition will help MakeMyTrip in increasing its visibility in mobile space.
