On-demand cab booking is a big market and we already have OLA and Uber-like big players taking a big pie of it. Now, a new player, Burdy, has come in the market with an aim to streamline the on-demand transport sector.
The most notable thing about Burdy’s cab booking service is their pricing. For consumers, they will charge a fixed per km. The ride starts at Rs. 6 per KM that is cheaper than other players in the market. The company also has no intention to introduce the surge pricing.
They also have a better offering for drivers. Drivers will have to pay a fixed monthly licensing fee that is Rs. 2000 per month. So, they are taking away all of their daily earnings. Burdy is also not charging any licensing fee from Drivers for the first month. So, drivers take home what they are earning without giving percentage cut to the platform.
So, Burdy seems like a better deal for both riders and drivers.
While talking about the service, CEO Rishabh Srivastava has confirmed that they gave already onboard 12,000 drivers on its platform.
They are also focusing on security a lot. They will offer SOS service to help riders in case an of emergency. If a rider hits the SOS button, he will get a call. If a rider fails to answer the call, the company will send the help to location.
Burdy will directly compete against Use and Ola. Burdy is a Bootstrapped company wile Ola and Uber both have SoftBank to fund. So, Burdy has a tough competition to face. They are also in talks to raise funds but didn’t provide any details.
