Amazon Launches B2B Wholesale Marketplace AmazonBusiness.in For Small Businesses

AmazonBusiness.in

AmazonBusiness.inAmazon has launched a dedicated portalAmazonBusiness.in for small business traders in India. This is a pilot-project and is only available in bangalore but it will soon be available in other cities. This project takes the advantage of unlimited FDI provision for B2B segment in India and targets $300 billion B2B market of India.

In US, Amazon has a similar B2B platform AmazonSupply for American SMBs. AmazonBusiness.in is the first dedicated B2B portal of the company outside the US.

As of now, it is in invite-only mode. So, this platform is not open for all. If you own a business and want to try this platform, you can request invite. Good thing is that Amazon will directly negotiate deals with the manufacturers. It will certainly help business owners to get products at discounted rates. Amazon is listing most of the big categories with thousands of products. Payments will be done via Amazon’s own payment gateway and products will be delivered at home. Delivery charges were not confirmed.

Amazon is not the only big player in B2B market. Walmart has already entered into the Indian B2B market with its portal BestPriceWholesale.co.in. It is also looking to expand service across India. IndiaMart and TradeIndia are also key players in this market. Tata is also running a B2B portal. So entry of Amazon will surely heat up the competition. But SMEs are going to get major benefit of this competition.
