YouTube Gets Real-time Analytics

YouTube has added a new option “Real-time” in dashboard which provides view counts to the minutes for your videos. By default, it only shows the real-time count for last 5 videos. But you can search for other videos too. This report aims to gibe you early insights into performance of your videos which may further help in promotional strategy.

You will see two graphs there.

  • Hour-by-hour data is available for a sliding window of 2 days (“Last 48 hours”)
  • Minute-by-minute data is available for a sliding window of 1 hour (“Last 60 mins”)

Both graphs refers to the local time zone of viewer.

YouTube creators have been asking for this kind of report to see the immediate data of their videos. So, Google has plans to release this feature. We will also see many other kind of reports added to this real-time report. We can expect something like we see in Google Analytics real-time report.
