Back In January at CES, Intel and Opening Ceremony announced that they are working on smart bracelet designed by Opening ceremony. Today, Intel unveiled My Intelligent Communication Accessory (or MICA), a wireless bracelet that looks like a premium jewelry from one side but has a smartwatch on other side.
MICA can display SMS alerts and notifications on its curved display just similar to other smartwatches available in market. It comes with a 3G connectivity, so you do not need to connect with with phone. Intel did not say anything about the software platform used in the smartwatch. But it confirmed that it has already started working with developers to bring apps for MICA.
MICA has started the new era of fashion and technology accessories for women. It is designed by semi-precious gems and water snakeskin. It comes in two design variants: one with black watersnake skin, lapis stones and pearls from China, while the other has white snakeskin with obsidian from Russia and tigers eye from South Africa. Both variants comes with 3G.
MICA will be available at selected Barneys and Opening Ceremony stores by holiday 2014. Pricing details are yet to be announced. Company promised to reveal other special features and capabilities of the MICA soon.
