Satya Nadella, The New CEO of Microsoft

Since Steve ballmer announced his retirement in August 2013, company was searching a new CEO to lead the company. Today, it has announced that Satya Nadella will take over as third CEO of Microsoft. Satya Nadella has spent 22 years in the company. He also served company as Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group in past.

Satya Nadella was born in 1969 in Hyderabad India. He finished his schooling at Hyderabad Public School. In early days of his like, he had more interest in Cricket. He did Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication from Manipal Institute of Technology and then moved to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for MS degree.

He started his job in Sun Microsystems as program Manager in the Windows Developer Relations group. Just after getting this job, he began pursuing MBA degree from University of Chicago. When he was in MBA, he received the job offer from Microsoft and he joined the company in 1992.

He quickly rose in the company and took very important positions. He served company as Senior Vice President of Research & Development for the Online Services division, Vice President of the Microsoft Business Solutions group (MBS), and notably, the President of Microsoft Server and Tools Business.

In an email to Microsoft employees, Steve ballmer announced the news and said, “Satya is a proven leader. He’s got strong technical skills and great business insights. He has a remarkable ability to see what’s going on in the market, to sense opportunity, and to really understand how we come together at Microsoft to execute against those opportunities in a collaborative way.”

After becoming the CEO of the company. Satya also sent an email to Microsoft employees. He explain how it feels when your hard work is paid by company. He

“It is an incredible honor for me to lead and serve this great company of ours. Steve and Bill have taken it from an idea to one of the greatest and most universally admired companies in the world. I’ve been fortunate to work closely with both Bill and Steve in my different roles at Microsoft, and as I step in as CEO, I’ve asked Bill to devote additional time to the company, focused on technology and products. I’m also looking forward to working with John Thompson as our new Chairman of the Board,” He added.

Microsoft’s founder and former CEO Bill Gates will be joining as a “Founder and Technology Advisor” of the company. Now, he will give more time in company and will support Nadella in shaping the future of company.
