As we warned earlier, Scammers are now trying to take advantage of Flappy Bird game’s demise. Flappy Bird game was pulled from App stores this weekend by developer Dong Nguyen. But many fake apps with similar name are now available in Google play store. Most of these apps are infected that sends sms to premium numbers and leak your phone’s data.
Security Firm Sophos has analyzed few of these fake apps. Most of the apps are designed for earning purpose. Once installed in your smartphone, these apps ask permission to send text messages to premium numbers. If you do not do this, it won’t let you completely quit.
These fake apps also asked permission for accessing your bookmarks and system tools. Many other fake apps are asking users to pay for playing the game. If you refuse to pay, app will close.
These are basic threats but we never know what scammers are trying. So, stop searching for Flappy Bird. It is no more available in app stores. We advise users to be careful while installing the apps. If you want to enjoy the game, try browser based Flappy bird.
