Popular Online retailer Snapdeal has just added two more language option on their website. Now, users can pick among English, Tamil and Hindi language website via a dropdown at the top.
This move has been raked to reach out to the customers who like to access websites in their regional languages. Snapdeal already revealed that 50% sales of Snapdeal comes from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. So, this move can be helpful for the company. By adding Hindi, it targets Northen part and by Tamil, it targets southern part.
We can expect few more language options in near future. Snapdeal confirmed that it has plans to target 40% local language internet users of the country.
Snapdeal is the first e-commerce company that has launched regional language feature. This move will also force other e-commerce companies to add local language market place. We can expect similar kind of move from Amazon.in.
