Google is trying to push YouTube closer to you. Company is in talks with various direct-to-home cable services providers to bring YouTube to your televisions. Francisco Varela, Global Director of Platform Partnerships at YouTube revealed this plan but he didn’t reveal the exact time when this will come. But he confirmed that company is planning to bring it as soon as possible.

YouTube turns Eight Years Old

Varela said that India is one of those few countries where YouTube is growing fast. So, India is an important place for YouTube as a business point of view. YouTube receives more than 55 million unique monthly users from India. It was only 15 million in 2011.

YouTube is an important part of Google in terms of revenue. Last year, YouTube added $50 billion for company. It has more than 1 billion unique users who watches over 6 billion hours of video. Bringing YouTube to TV will add more users to the service and hence more revenue.

This year in march, YouTube launched a rental service in country that lets video owners generate more revenue. You can rent a movie for Rs. 50 from YouTube along with an option to purchase the movie. Movie pricing is based the picture quality. In may, it also launched paid channels that lets channels make more money.
