After adopting hash tags and embedded posts, now Facebook is going to adopt another feature from micro-blogging site Twitter. This time, Facebook is experimenting with trending topics. Company has already pushed the feature for few users.

Facebook Trending

According to reports by The Wall Street Journal, some users can see the trending topics at the right side bar. Currently, Facebook is showing hottest global topics. But we can expect local trending topics too.

Facebook has also confirmed the experiment. Company has started testing feature from Thursday. The latest testing is being done only for users on desktop browsers.  As the feature is only an experiment, it is available only to a small percentage of US users. In trending section, Facebook will display hash tags that are generating lots of conversation on the web. The feature is in early stage of development and Facebook is working to make it more interactive to show trending based on the interest.

Facebook is adopting all those features from Twitter which make micro-blogging website different than others.
