As we reported earlier, Google has announced the new design of Google Maps. It looks awesome and comes with so many nice features to make your location finding easier. New Google maps has the integration of Google earth and Google maps with stunning Google imagery.

Google Unveils Redesgined maps

Google is taking a new challenge in mapping by creating a real-time, personalized maps for everyone in the world. Bernhard Seefeld, the product management director for Google Maps said that ” it’ll get better and better, the more that you use it,”

Google Maps also comes with street view and special projects including its space and underwater imaging. You can also see 3D view of a location if you have browser that supports WebGL – technology behind Google earth. Google Chrome and latest version of Firefox are the support browsers.

While viewing 3D maps, at the bottom you will also see lot of pictures taken in that location, including user-generated photo tours and 3D imagery via Google Earth.

Flight search and places reviews are also integrated with Google maps. So, you can easily search a flight route on maps and see the review of places made by a person with top reviewers.

This is the biggest redesign since Google had introduced Google Maps. The new Google Maps will be available from this summer.

Before making this live, Google wants proper testing so it is inviting few users to use this first. If you want to use Google Maps before official launch, you can request an invite on the preview page. Once you receive invite, you will be able to switch to new maps.
