Google Gets New Patent To Show Ads Based on Backgroud Noise

Google got a new patent that will help it to show more personalized and effective ads on user’s device. This new patent is for the technology which can identify the background noise and some other environmental factors. This will help advertisers to show more effective ads. The patent also describes that pictures of the phone’s surroundings taken by its camera will be used toward the same end.

Suppose you are at a new place and your device informs you about the nearest bus or taxi stand based on the noise and data it collected. This will really helpful. But this also comes with many questions about the user’s privacy. Company already confirmed that user’s voice and photos will not be taken while collecting sorrounding data. The whole point of using this new technology is to provide users advertisements that are local and help them rather than cause a nuisance.

Although Google has this patent but there is no plans to use this technology in near future. Google has not announced anything related to this patent and its use.
