The vendor company datawind has decided to set 3 more manufacturing units in Cochin, Noida and Hyderabad – in the first half of 2012 to assemble the tablet. Currently it has only one manufacturing unit in Hyderabad, with its vendor Quad, which makes the LCD panel for the tablet. But this demand needs more units to establish soon.

“We never expected such a high response from both corporate and individual buyers. We plan to supply 70,000-75,000 units per day once the factories are in place by April,” Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO, Datawind told.

Although this tablet has resistive touch and slow processor, this is getting 1 lakh order a day after it has put for online booking. Its cost is the mauin reason for this great response from the users.
