Tata docomo launches video news alerts

Tata docomo has launched a unique service for its customers which is video news alert. This new kind of alert service will give breaking news alerts in the form of video clips. The video news alerts can be streamed, viewed and downloaded by both 2G and 3G subscribers on their mobile phones.This service is launched with the partnership of Network 18 which is the largest news network in India.
“The new Video News Alert service is a push service via SMS wherein subscribers will be kept informed on all current events. What’s enticing is the ability to get news in video format as it allows customers to watch the news clip and world happenings on the move. Tata Docomo has always been at the forefront of offering services that are relevant and affordable. We are pleased to partner with Network 18, our content aggregators for this initiative,” said GurinderSingh Sandhu, head of corporate marketing at Tata Teleservices.
Customers can subscribe this alert service by sending n SMS ‘VIDEO NEWS’ to 53333, and then a subscription confirmation SMS along with a link to access video news will be sent. After doing this process Subscribers will then receive three video alerts every day. This is not a free service and charges for data access are 10 paise for 10 KB and there are no subscription charges to use this service.
