It also notifies your friends on Instagram that you are using quiet mode and no longer checking the app. It will also show your activity status to ‘Quiet Mode.’ If someone sends you a DM, it will notify the person that you are using quiet mode and won’t be notified about the DM. Basically, it is a Do Not Disturb mode to stop receiving any notifications.
It is worth noting that Quiet mode works only on mobile apps and not on computers.
How to enable Quiet mode?
To enable Quiet mode on Instagram, open the app and go to your profile. Now tap the hamburger icon and select Settings and Privacy. Go to Notifications. Here, tap Quiet mode.
In the new window, enable the toggle to enable Quiet mode. By default, it is set to enable from 11 PM to 7 AM and 7 days a week. But you can change the day and time depending on your choice.
It will enable the Quiet mode on your profile. It will automatically set your profile to Quiet mode during the time period you selected. You can select up to 12 hours a day for quiet mode.
