WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app used by over 2.5 billion active users. The app lets you have text conversations, audio calls, and video calls, share files, send audio messages, share photos, and share locations. The app also lets you make groups and provides control over your privacy. But there is a similar app called GB WhatsApp that claims to be a new fork of WhatsApp with better features. If you want to know what is GB WhatsApp, keep reading. In this article, I will tell you what is GB WhatsApp and how this fork version differs from the original WhatsApp app.
What is GB WhatsApp?
GB WhatsApp is a customized mod of the original WhatsApp app. GB WhatsApp breaks limitations set by the original WhatsApp app and also offers improved features. The most notable feature GB WhatsApp offers is the use of two Whatsapp accounts on a single device. This app also comes with a Dark theme, Custom themes, a Hidden chat feature, a Story Download option, Animated stickers, sending larger files, hiding your online status, hiding your message using the hidden message ticks, Sharing more than ten photos simultaneously, and more.
GB WhatsApp also lets you auto-reply to conversations, Schedule WhatsApp messages, send high-resolution pictures, the Anti-revoke messages feature, Download Statuses, 600 people in the broadcast group, and more.
So basically GBWhatsApp is a hacked version of WhatsApp to bring additional functionalities. GB WhatsApp isn’t available on the Google Play Store. You need to download the APK from the official website and install it on your phone.

Is GB WhatsApp safe?
Popular Internet security firm ESET also published the T2 2022 Threat report which confirmed that GB WhatsApp is responsible for spreading the malware in India. The app is an easy way to spread Android Spyware. The app is popular, so threat actors are distributing infected versions of the app to spread malware.
Once the app is installed, it runs malicious code in the background and steals your phone’s data. So, it is important to understand that using GB WhatsApp is risky.
Should you use GB WhatsApp?
GB WhatsApp isn’t legal. It is basically a clone version of WhatsApp. So, using GB WhatsApp is against the terms and conditions of WhatsApp. WhatsApp has already confirmed that any user who is found using GB WhatsApp will get a permanent ban. The company keeps banning accounts that use illegally modified apps of WhatsApp. The app isn’t legal. This is the reason why the app isn’t available on Play Store.
Downloading APK from unknown sources is also not safe. Several hackers served malicious GB WhatsApp APK with malware. So, you may end up installing a malicious app on your phone while searching for GB WhatsApp. Even if the app isn’t malicious, your account may also be at risk.

So, you shouldn’t think about using GB WhatsApp. It is risky for your phone’s data and WhatsApp account.
Key reasons why I do not recommend GB WhatsApp:
Security Risks: Since GB WhatsApp is a third-party app, WhatsApp doesn’t recommend users to use it. Several malicious users serve modified version of the app with trojan or malware to infect user devices. This means there’s a risk that the app can compromise your device’s security or privacy.
Bans and Account Suspension: I have already explained that WhatsApp prohibits the use of third-party clients like GB WhatsApp. If WhatsApp finds that you are using any forked version of WhatsApp client, it will suspend your account temporarily or permanently.
Data Privacy Concerns: Third-party WhatsApp clients like GB WhatsApp get access to your WhatsApp chats. So, there risk that your personal data and conversations could be compromised or misused.
Although GB WhatsApp offers additional features and customization options, it also has significant risks, including security vulnerabilities, potential bans or account suspension, privacy concerns, and lack of updates.
